Heidi has been practicing law for over 15 years. With 7 years of prosecutorial experience, She has fought for victims and worked hard to keep our mountain communities safe.
She has prosecuted cases ranging from misdemeanors and traffic offenses to attempted murders. Heidi has handled cases involving sex assaults, armed robbery, kidnapping, organized crime and complex financial matters. She has sought justice for the victims of all of these crimes.
Heidi is a Colorado native who grew up in Eagle. She graduated from Mesa State College and attended law school at Chapman University in Orange County, California. After graduating, she immediately moved back to Colorado to return to her roots in the mountains.
She joined DA5 in 2013 with then newly elected District Attorney Bruce Brown, and has been with the office ever since.
“I love what I do,” says Heidi when asked about serving the four counties of DA5 as the Assistant District Attorney. “It has been an honor to serve in this position.”
Heidi will work hard to ensure the public is protected, victims’ rights are protected, and defendants’ Constitutional rights are protected, and that everyone accused of a crime is provided with a fair opportunity to have their day in court.
Heidi has served on numerous committees throughout the district including Child Fatality Prevention Review Committees in Eagle, Lake and Summit Counties; the Town of Eagle PPSAC (Police Public Safety Advisory Committee); the Immigrant Advisory Committee; and has served as a P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standards and Training) instructor for the Eagle County Reserve Officers Academy.
Heidi has spent the past 7 years helping to manage the day to day operations of DA5, overseeing the administration, policy development and budget for the office. She also has maintained a consistent caseload consisting of juvenile matters as well as high profile felony cases throughout the district. Heidi has gained the trust and respect of the defense bar, the law enforcement agencies, community organizations, and the residents of DA5.
